Ram 1500 vs. Ford F-150

When it comes to offering a rugged and dependable driving experience, the Ram 1500 is known for its ability to transcend expectations. Our San Francisco customers know that when you want to get the job done, you reach for the keys to your pickup truck, but we understand that in order to feel confident in your purchase or lease, you need to do a certain amount of research. This means that in order to be secure in picking the Ram 1500, we should share with you how it differs from the Ford F-150 in important ways.

These trucks do have a lot to offer, but when you want to have the versatility at an affordable price, you can see how the these trucks compare. We encourage you to take a test drive to discover how the Ram 1500 can really hold its own against the Ford F-150.

  • One way the Ram 1500 performs is by offering you comfort. The Sport trim will offer Fairfield  drivers heated front seats with leather-wrapped steering wheel, while the F-150 won't offer that at all.
  • Everyone knows that a HEMI® engine is a powerful option, but only the Ram 1500 offers a HEMI® engine option with 395 horsepower. The F-150 doesn't offer a HEMI® or a Pentastar® engine with 305 horsepower that you can get with the Ram 1500.
  • On the base trim, the Ram 1500 offers an eight-speed transmission, while the F-150 offers just a standard six-speed transmission.
  • The Ram 1500 offers a Class IV Receiver Hitch with Integrated Trailer Tow Wiring on the Tradesman trim, but the F-150 doesn't seem to have this feature listed in its specs sheet.
  • Both models are capable and have a lot to offer Concord drivers, but the Ram 1500 can tow more than the F-150 does.

  • The 8.4-inch display is called the largest in its class, and it's standard on the Ram 1500 Harvest trim. The F-150 will make you put up with a 2.3-inch productivity screen until the Lariat trim that will cost you $7,000 more than the Ram 1500.
  • While the starting price for each truck begins in an affordable range, the Ford F-150 will cost you more than the Ram 1500.
  • The rearview camera will cost you a lot less to have it equipped on the Ram 1500 than it would to have it on the F-150. This means backing up will be a bit easier, especially if you need to hitch up your trailer.
  • The Big Horn trim level of the Ram 1500 offers ParkSense® Front and Rear Park Assist System, but the F-150 doesn't seem to have this feature offered on its lower trim levels.
  • Each truck offers a different communications hub, with the Ram 1500 providing an available Uconnect® system that you know and love, while the F-150 features a SYNC system.
